Laura Ballesteros has built her career across leading creative agencies in Colombia and Latin America, including Leo Burnett, Proximity Colombia, DDB Colombia, and currently Edelman LatAm, where she works as a Senior Creative Copywriter. This path has allowed her to understand different creative cultures and standards — from classic advertising to earned-first, reputation-driven creativity.
Before advertising, Laura studied and worked in journalism and political communication, a background that continues to shape how she evaluates ideas today. It gives her a strong sense of context, clarity and responsibility, and makes her especially attentive to what ideas say, how they say it, and how they live in the real world beyond execution.
She is also actively involved in the Colombian creative industry, participating in community initiatives such as Círculo de Creativas, speaking at events, mentoring, and contributing to spaces that foster dialogue, diversity and collaboration. Laura has a strong interest in global creativity and cultural exchange; she has studied English and French, enjoys working across markets, and values ideas that connect people, cultures and disciplines.
Her work has been recognized both as a student and as a professional at major international and regional festivals, including Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, Clio, Effie, LIA, El Ojo de Iberoamérica, El Dorado, The Drum, YouTube Awards, New York Festivals and Mad Stars, with multiple Grand Prix, Gold, Silver and Bronze awards across categories such as creative strategy, PR, media, social, influencer marketing, entertainment and brand experience.
In addition, Laura has participated in global talent programs such as See It Be It LatAm (2020/2023) and the Cannes ERA Programme (2025).
