For the second year in the country and region, we are holding a qualifying competition among professional young creators and marketers under 30 years old, the finalists of which will meet with the strongest colleagues from the Asia-Pacific region at the Spikes Asia festival. These are the Asian Cannes Lions, which no one from Kazakhstan had won before 2019. That year, for the first time in history, the Kazakhstani agency RA Kombinat won the Bronze Spike award for its work for the ForteBank client "Forte Pay". Since that time couple of creative agenices from Kazakhstan have made it to short list but never made to metal.

We will return to the Spikes Asia festival itself later, but for now I would like to draw your attention to three Young Spikes Competitions, which will be held in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in November/December 2023.

The essence of the Young Spikes Competitions Central Asia 2023
The essence of the competition is to create a creative idea in a very short time frame (24 hours) according to a very clear and inspiring brief. Each category of the competition has its own brief:
  • The idea of an Integrated campaign in three different media
  • The idea of promotion in the online environment
  • PR campaign idea
The competition conditions, English language and international jury make the competition as close as possible to the Young Spikes Asia-Pacific Region, the final of which will take place at the Spikes Asia International Festival of Creativity in Singapore in March 2024. Winners of country competitions in Central Asia qualify to participate in the regional finals, which brings together finalists from across the Asia-Pacific region.

The main goal of the competition is to stimulate the creative and marketing industry to produce bright heads - people who are not afraid to solve modern communication problems in the most effective ways and who are able to change both business and their environment for the better. The 2020 brief set the task of attracting the attention of Kazakhstanis to the problem of insufficient accessibility of urban infrastructure for people with disabilities and to take part in the development of an interactive map with marks of points accessible to them and those not yet accessible.

The participants of the competition in 2022 were faced with the task of attracting public attention to the problem of overpopulation of the "KotoPios" public fund and convincing people to take their furry pets home.

In 2022, the Global Young Lions were tasked with creating a PR campaign in support of UNESCO's "I am an Anti-Racist" campaign to engage youth (15-25 years old).

Teams of 2 people must come up with an integrated campaign that responds to a task in a real client’s brief and distribute detailed implementation in at least three media.
Art Directors, Copywriters, Brand Managers, Marketers, Strategists and Planners, Account Managers, PR Specialists and other marketing communications specialists are allowed to participate.
Young Spikes DIGITAL
Teams of 2 must create a digital campaign that uses modern digital technology and demonstrates a creative solution to a problem posed by a real client.
Art Directors, Copywriters, Brand Managers, Marketers, Strategists and Planners, Account Managers, PR Specialists and other marketing communications specialists are allowed to participate.
Young Spikes PR
Teams of 2 must develop an innovative PR campaign in response to a question posed by a real client in a brief.

Cost of participation of a creative partner in one category
